Watch: 3 arrested in Livonia after being caught on camera trying to break into cars

Suspects pleaded guilty, police say

LIVONIA, Mich. – Three people were arrested for allegedly trying to break into cars in a Livonia neighborhood, and it was caught on camera.

A Livonia resident reported to police that he spotted three suspects trying to break into cars in the neighborhood on his security camera. The timestamp on the security footage was at around 4:30 a.m. on April 8, 2025.

Police officers and K9 Kasimir responded to the area and began looking for the suspects. Within minutes of the search, police found all three suspects hiding in the backyard of a nearby home and arrested them. Officers recovered a stolen gun.

According to Livonia police, all three of the suspects pleaded guilty.

Police identified the suspects as Deron Finkley of Macomb, Markell Lee of Detroit and Avion Johnson of Ypsilanti.
