Here’s the Christmas holiday weather forecast for Southeast Michigan

Fog, mist developing across Southeast Michigan

Cloudy conditions will persist across Metro Detroit on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2023. After morning fog and mist, a few spotty showers will pop up in the afternoon. (WDIV)

The mild weather continues in Metro Detroit as temperatures push to more than 15 degrees above normal.

Christmas Eve

The fog will last through Sunday morning. In the afternoon, it will be cloudy with the chance of an isolated shower. Highs will be around 50 degrees. Southeasterly winds will be 5 to 10 mph.

Christmas

Christmas will be mostly cloudy with the chance of an afternoon shower. The chance of rain will increase in the evening with rain showers likely by night. Temperatures will be unseasonably mild with highs in the lower 50s. It will be 15 to 20 degrees above average, but shy of Detroit’s record of 64 degrees (from 1982). Lows will be in the lower to mid 40s.

Tuesday

Travel on Tuesday could be impacted by the weather conditions. Expect cloudy skies with rain showers. Highs will be in the lower 50s. A cold front will sweep across the area later in the day, which will bring slightly cooler air for Wednesday and the remainder of the week.
