DETROIT – Both presidential campaigns are placing a major focus on Michigan over the next few weeks.

Vice President Kamala Harris is leaving Detroit on Wednesday afternoon after making several stops in the city. One of those was a radio town hall with comedian and radio host Charlamagne tha God. She also visited Norwest Art Gallery and Cred Cafe. A focus point of the town hall was to zero in on the Black vote, specifically men.

Harris will return to Michigan on Friday to hold events in Grand Rapids, Lansing and Oakland County. On Saturday, she’ll have another event in Detroit.

During former President Donald Trump’s visit to the Detroit Economic Club on Oct. 10, he made comments about the city being like a developing nation. He doubled down on those comments during an appearance Tuesday at the Economic Club of Chicago.

The former president also touched on the auto industry during his appearance in Chicago.

Trump will also be returning to Michigan on Friday. He will speak at a roundtable in Oakland County in the afternoon and at a rally at Huntington Place in the evening.
