DETROIT – A Detroit Lions player appeared to have suffered a gruesome injury during a defensive tackle in the first half of their home matchup vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars inside Ford Field.
The injury occurred on Sunday (Nov. 17) at the 2:32 second mark in the second quarter when linebacker Alex Anzalone got his arm trapped between the body of Jags running back Travis Etienne Jr. and Lions and hard-hitting safety Brian Branch.

The 6′3″ 238-pound linebacker was on the ground for a bit before getting helped off the field by a member of the Lions staff.
The eight-year gator out of Florida was walking off the field, holding his left arm to his side, where he could tell teammates it was his arm as he headed to the locker room.

That puts him on track, potentially, for the playoffs.
The injury was to his forearm, and he was ruled out of the game at the start of the fourth quarter.
NFL Insider Ian Rapoport said Lions head coach Dan Campbell informed the media after their 52-6 victory of the Jags that Anzalone would be out 6-8 weeks.
