DETROIT – The Detroit Lions fell to the Buffalo Bills 48-42 in an old-fashioned shootout inside Ford Field.

Sunday’s (Dec. 15) loss snapped the Lions' 11-game winning streak, but it didn’t hurt them in the standings as they’re still atop the National Football Conference with a 12-2 record heading into Soldier Field where they’ll take on the Chicago Bears in the elements.

However, they lost three key players to their already depleted defense.

According to head coach Dan Campbell, defensive backs Khalil DorseyCarlton Davis III, and defensive end Alim McNeill may have suffered season-ending injuries.

“Dorsey will be out for the year as it was a tough injury,” said Campbell. “It’s similar to Hutch (Aidan Hutchinson). As far as Davis III and McNeill, I’ll know more tomorrow, but I don’t feel good about either one of those guys.”

Campbell continued:

“Normally, if I say, ‘I don’t feel good about it,' that means they’re probably done for the rest of the year. So, I don’t feel good about it.”

Dorsey suffered a potential broken leg or foot in the loss, as the instant replay showed the lower body injury to be gruesome, leading to him being placed on a backboard and carted off the field late in the first half.

Davis III suffered a potential face injury and concussion. Indications from the TV copy suggest that he may have broken his jaw in the second quarter.

McNeill left the shootout with a knee injury in the third quarter, and he was seen walking off the field with Lions personnel, slamming his helmet in frustration after applying pressure to the Bills offensive line on a third-and-long play.
