DETROIT – We already knew the Detroit Lions would host a divisional round game at Ford Field next weekend, but now we officially know when that game will kick off.
Detroit earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC with a 15-2 record during the regular season. That means the Lions get a bye through the wildcard round, with a guarantee to host the worst-seeded team left in the conference.
It was announced during the Commanders-Buccaneers game that the Lions' divisional round game will kick off at 8 p.m. Saturday on FOX. The Lions will host the Commanders.
The Eagles will host the other NFC divisional game, while the Chiefs and Bills host the Texans and Ravens, respectively, in the AFC.
Even though they won a franchise-record 15 games this season, the Lions had to scratch and claw their way to the top of the conference, clinching the NFC North Division in the final game with a win over the Vikings.
Now they’ve got their sights set on their first-ever Super Bowl appearance, especially after coming so close a year ago.
