DETROIT – The Detroit Lions listed three players on the final injury report ahead of their NFC Divisional Round matchup vs. the Washington Commanders inside Ford Field.
Detroit is coming off of their much-needed bye-week with a mixture of good news and bad news as they’ll get back some key reinforcements ahead of Saturday’s (Jan. 18) game.
The good news is that the Lions are getting bell-cow running back David Montgomery back from a torn MCL he suffered during their Week 15 matchup vs. the Buffalo Bills.
Detroit is also getting cornerback Terrion Arnold back as well after he was seen being carted off the field during their Week 18 matchup vs. Minnesota Vikings due to a foot injury.
Of the three players listed on the final injury report, cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. (hamstring/illness), who has been out since late November, draws a questionable tag for the injury-depleted Lions defense.
The bad news is that guard Kevin Zeitler and defensive end Pat O’Connor have been ruled out this week.
Zeitler is dealing with a hamstring injury that he suffered in the Lions Week 18 boat race of the Vikings.
A week after the 31-9 victory, head coach Dan Campbell said Zeitler was heading in the right direction but has since been downgraded to out.
O’Connor missed most of the Vikings game with a calf injury, and after the bye week, he has been downgraded to out.
Here’s the full injury report from Thursday’s practice:
- Defensive end Pat O’Connor -- out (calf).
- Guard Kevin Zeitler -- out (hamstring).
- Ennis Rakestraw Jr. -- questionable (hamstring/illness
Kickoff is Saturday at 8 p.m.
