DETROIT – Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell talked about his love for Jameson Williams and how far the young wide receiver has come on and off the field.
Campbell was asked about “Jamo” on Wednesday, and he gushed about the 23-year-old wideout for more than a minute.

“I’ve got a lot of pride with him, man,” Campbell said. “He’s one of those guys -- I love that kid because he’s had to endure a lot -- some of it his own doing, and he knows that.
“That’s what I appreciate, is that it took him a minute to buy into what we were doing -- he can be a little hard-headed. That’s also why you love him. That’s why I love him.
“But he’s learned along the way and he’s grown.”
Campbell said the best thing Williams did was let his guard down and endear himself to his teammates during the 2023-24 season. Campbell said it’s been all uphill since then.
“Every one of these (missteps) that’s happened, he’s grown,” Campbell said. “He’s learned from it, and I love where he’s at. I really do. I’m proud of him.”
Campbell didn’t want to take any personal credit for Williams' growth.
“You just try to tell him what’s on your mind,” Campbell said. “You try to give him the reality of the situation. Give him the good and the bad. Be honest with him, and tell him where you really believe he can go and what you think he is. The rest is up to him.
“I said this last year: He’s part of the herd now. He’s part of the stock, and that’s the best thing ever.”
