The team was growing so much that they had to put out an official statement regarding his health and potential return to the floor.
“Pistons guard Jaden Ivey continues to progress in his return from a broken left fibula that was suffered on January 1 vs. Orlando.
He has transitioned to a walking boot and has begun light weight-bearing activity.
Ivey’s progress will be updated in another four weeks as weight-bearing and basketball activities continue to evolve during the rehabilitation process.”
In his absence, the Pistons acquired guard Dennis Schröder from the Utah Jazz in a multi-team blockbuster deal on Thursday (Feb. 6).
After working out a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, acquiring K.J. Martin and two draft picks, the Milwaukee Bucks' second-round pick in 2027, and the Dallas Mavericks' second-round pick in 2031.

According to The Stein Line, the Pistons sent the Utah Jazz Martin, Josh Richardson, and a 2028 second-round draft pick to receive Schröder.
Schröder will not make his team debut Friday night when they take on the 76ers inside Little Ceasars Arena on ESPN.
But when he does, he is expected to bring relief for 2025 NBA All-Star Cade Cunningham down the stretch of the season.

Ivey’s recovery expectancy timeline is 4-6 months, meaning the earliest he could return to the court would be in May 2025.
Look for Schröder, 31, averaging 14.4 points and 5.5 assists while shooting 41.8% from the field and 35.8% beyond the arc this season to fill in during that timeframe.
