DETROIT – The Detroit Pistons are heading into the NBA All-Star break above .500 for the first time since 2009 as they took down the Chicago Bulls 128-110 to improve to 29-26 on the season.
The victory on Wednesday (Feb. 12) was their fourth in a row, as they swept the Bulls in back-to-back games. Their first victory came in blowout fashion, with a 132-92 boat race inside the United Center.

The defeat was the largest margin for the Bulls this season. Chicago once trailed by as many as 49 points in the historic defeat.
The Pistons were led by first-time All-Star Cade Cunningham, who cemented himself as one of the league’s top stars to date, including becoming the third fastest player in NBA history to reach 4000 points, 1000 rebounds, and 1,300 assists Tuesday, Feb. 11, in 187 career games.

Cunningham surpassed the original “Mr. Triple Double” Oscar Robertson (131 games) and newly acquired Los Angeles Lakers point guard Luka Dončić (169 games).
As of Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, the Pistons are the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, thanks to the emergence of Cunningham’s emergence.

Cunningham finished the second of the back-to-back Chicago homestand with 29 points, seven assists, and five rebounds to stamp his selection as one of the NBA’s top 24 players in the association.
The four-year veteran is the first Pistons player since Blake Griffin to be named to the All-Star team.

On that list that Cunningham just graced, the players with the most All-Star appearances in Pistons history are Isiah Thomas (12x), Bob Lainer (7x), Dave Bing (6x), Joe Dumars (6x), Grant Hill (5x), and Gene Shue (5x).
Cunningham will also participate in the 2025 Starry 3-Point Contest on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 8 p.m.
