Witness recalls seeing barricaded gunman shoot Washtenaw County Deputy
SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ What started as a fight between neighbors ended with a Washtenaw County Sheriffโs deputy shot and the suspected gunman dead. Early signs show the man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the Washtenaw County Sheriffโs Office announced Thursday morning. Before all the chaos started Wednesday at an apartment complex in Superior Township, Dakota Turner was unknowingly right there with the gunman. โIโm going around and I see this guy and heโs got a really like mean stare on his face,โ recalled Turner. Turner was working his landscaping job in the neighborhood and thought offering this strange man some help was the right thing to do.

SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ Washtenaw County deputies are asking residents near an active police scene to stay inside or avoid the area. The affected area is in Superior Township, bordered by North Prospect, Geddes, East Clark and North Harris roads. Residents should stay inside if theyโre home or avoid the area, if not, according to the Washtenaw County Sheriffโs Office.
Authorities seek suspect in suspicious Ypsilanti Township school fire
YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. The Washtenaw County Sheriffs Office is looking for help identifying someone wanted in connection to a suspicious Ypsilanti Township fire Wednesday. According to authorities, deputies were dispatched to Ford Elementary School on Clark Road just after 8:30 p.m. and, upon arrival, found the building on fire. The Washtenaw County Sheriffs Office provided photos of someone wanted for questioning in the incident. 64-year-old woman struck, killed by moving car while walking in the street in Whiteford Township
WHITEFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. A 64-year-old woman was struck and killed by a moving vehicle in Whiteford Township on Wednesday, police say. The Monroe County Sheriffs Office says the woman, from Long Beach, New York, was walking south in the southbound travel lane on Clark Road south of Yankee Road around 4 a.m. when she was struck by a blue 2016 Ford F-150 also traveling southbound. Officials say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say it is unclear why the woman was walking in the road.
