A staggering 97% of the jokes Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon told about the candidates in September targeted President Donald Trump, a study released Monday found. That's 455 jokes about Trump and 14 about Democrat Joe Biden, according to the Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University. That doesn't even count 64 jokes made about Trump's family or administration, the study said. It may present a real challenge for the comics if Biden defeats Trump in next month's election, however. In 2001, late-night comedians made former President Bill Clinton the subject of more jokes than his successor, George W. Bush, Lichter said.

The festival, presented by the National Comedy Center in Jamestown, New York, will stream conversations with the artists over three weekends, starting Friday and running through Aug. 30. NEW YORK – The studio is largely empty, but Jimmy Fallon is out of his home and back to the “Tonight” show stage. The NBC late-night host returned to NBC's Rockefeller Center headquarters Monday, saying he hoped he could provide his audience with a little more “normal” during the coronavirus pandemic. “I'm here to show you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel if we keep each other safe,” Fallon said. NEW YORK At the request of co-creator Tina Fey, four episodes of the comedy 30 Rock are being removed from circulation because they featured characters performing in blackface. The series aired on NBC from 2006 to 2013, but episodes are still being shown in television syndication and on streaming services including Hulu, Amazon Prime, iTunes and Peacock. Two of the four eliminated 30 Rock episodes originally aired in 2010, with the others first shown in 2008 and 2010. They include the East Coast version of an episode first shown live. Fallon, who did not appear in such makeup on 30 Rock, apologized last month after online circulation of an earlier Saturday Night Live skit where he wore blackface to impersonate Chris Rock.

Willard’s death comes nearly two years after his wife Mary Willard died at the age of 71. After his wife died, Willard questioned whether he would work again. “We were so lucky to know Fred Willard and will miss his many visits." “Fred Willard was the funniest person that I’ve ever worked with," Steve Carell said on Twitter.

NEW YORK – Michelle Obama launched a series of online video readings for kids with the classic picture book “The Gruffalo,” which the former first lady called the story of a mouse who uses his “wit and imagination” to get the best of a fox and other would-be predators. “Mondays with Michelle Obama” is part of the PBS KIDS Read-Along series, and will continue through May 11. It can be seen at noon EDT on the Facebook and YouTube pages of PBS KIDS and the Facebook page of Obama's publisher, Penguin Random House. Trump and Bloomberg will broadcast dueling ads during Sunday's NFL championship game, with each campaign spending an estimated $10 million on 60 seconds of airtime. Trump's campaign will air two ads during the game, both 30 seconds long. One, released Thursday, highlights Trump's record, especially on the economy, citing continued wage growth and the record low unemployment rate. “Just as the Super Bowl crowns the greatest football team, nothing says ‘winning’ like President Donald Trump and his stellar record of accomplishment for all Americans,” Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale said in a statement.
