It’s important to change out masks for a fresh one when sensible, or to use a fabric that wicks moisture and dries quickly. Executive Order 180 requires face coverings to be worn by student athletes when actively participating, except during cross country, golf, tennis, swimming and diving. This includes all times during active participation and all times during non-active participation when six feet of physical distance cannot be maintained. Face coverings must be worn by coaches, medical staff, game event staff, members of the media and spectators.

MHSAA officials announced Thursday that the fall 2020 football season has been reinstated by its Representative Council. On Aug 14, the fall 2020 football season was postponed to spring 2021, but Thursdays vote allows for a shortened season this fall. However, the MHSAA will conduct its postseason events in those four sports only for the fall 2020 season, officials said. All football teams in 11- and eight-player football will qualify for the playoffs during the shortened season.

The Spartans overcame last year's 1-8 record to earn a chance to make the high school playoffs in 2019. This would have been the first time Imlay City made the playoffs since 2001. Ironically, the Spartans' first game next season will be against Durand High School.
