Albert said that when longtime teacher Brian Wheeler mowed the yard naked at his Port Orange home in 2017, he made a very poor decision. This is a man who has over two decades of history teaching children in our community and successfully teaching them, Albert said. Wheeler was working at Cypress Elementary in Port Orange when he was removed. According to Albert and the paperwork she showed us, Wheeler will be fined but will retain his teaching credential.

(CNN) - Some beachgoers frolicking in the Florida surf were shocked to find out that sharks were swimming just a few feet away. Fran Kumpf told CNN affiliate WESH that she saw a shark that appeared to be about 5 feet long on Monday at Daytona Beach. "These particular ones, they would never seek out people, but they might accidentally bite a person if they thought it was a bait fish," Naylor said. Tammy Malphurs told CNN. Volusia County, which includes Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach, leads the US in shark bites.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - Authorities say a shark bit a teenager on the foot as he surfed on Florida's Atlantic Coast. Tammy Malphurs tells The Daytona Beach News-Journal that the 18-year-old was paddling his surf board Sunday evening off New Smyrna Beach when he was bitten on the foot. She says he suffered minor puncture wounds and was treated at the scene. Malphurs says the teen didn't see the shark. In April, a 19-year-old was bitten by a shark in the same area.
