House where Martin Luther King Jr. planned Alabama marches moving to Dearborn
An Alabama home where Martin Luther King Jr. and other civil rights leaders planned the 1965 Selma to Montgomery marches has been sold to a historical museum in Michigan and will be moved to a site near Detroit for preservation.
Whatโs changing at Greenfield Village Halloweโen event in midst of coronavirus pandemic
DEARBORN, Mich. โ In midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the Halloweโen celebration at Greenfield Village will continue with some changes. โWe had to reimagine it, we had to rethink everything,โ said Greenfield Village Director Jim Johnson. Johnson said the headless horseman and Transylvania trio will be featured, as well as a new Halloween Express haunted train ride. Tickets are sold out, and it is uncertain if more will be added. WDIV partners with The Henry Ford, DSO for Salute to America TV only event
WDIV-Local 4 is partnering with The Henry Ford and Detroit Symphony Orchestra to present Salute to America, a TV only event on July 3 at 8 p.m., to kick off the Fourth of July weekend. For the first time in its 28-year run, Salute to America concerts will not be held in Greenfield Village during the Fourth of July weekend. WDIV-Local 4 will produce an hour-long primetime program filled with all the music and fanfare for which the Salute to America concerts are known and loved. Jason Carr and Tati Amare of Local 4s Live in the D will host the special from Greenfield Village at The Henry Ford. The televised special will remain proudly supported by the events long-time sponsors Bank of America and Ford Motor Company.
Henry Ford Museum to reopen in phases after COVID-19 shutdown
DEARBORN, Mich. The Henry Ford Museum announced its reopening amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic after being closed to the public since March. Businesses across Michigan have been recently cleared to reopen with restrictions under Governor Gretchen Whitmers MI Safe Start Plan as the states spread of COVID-19 slows.
