Detroit Public Libraries join program to motivate young children to read

There's a program that sets ambitious goals for very young children to instill that love of reading and boost literacy. It's a national effort called 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. If you track the progress, your child can receive free books for hitting milestones along the way. Detroit Public Libraries are participating in the program.
