Metro Detroit teen survives cardiac arrest thanks to quick-thinking coach

During a track practice at Allen Park High School, 14-year-old Alyssa Atkinson suffered a cardiac arrest. Quick action by her coaches, including the use of an AED, saved her life before paramedics arrived. Despite having no prior symptoms or health issues, Alyssa now has an implanted defibrillator and is expected to return to sports.
