Downriver community begins construction to improve rail crossing

Woodhaven is tackling the persistent issue of train-induced traffic delays at the rail crossing on Allen Road near Van Horn by initiating a project to lower the road and construct a rail bridge. This endeavor, anticipated to last two and a half years, is currently focused on relocating utility lines, starting with telecommunications. The project will eventually lead to a complete closure of Allen Road during bridge construction, with community outreach planned to mitigate the impact.
