Severe thunderstorm warning expires for Lenawee, Monroe counties

DETROIT – The National Weather Service has issued a thunderstorm warning Monday night for Lenawee and Monroe counties until 10:30 p.m.

Severe thunderstorms were over Dundee, and a new storm just south of Adrian was moving northeast at 20 mph.

There are 60 mph wind gusts, so expect damage to the area’s roofs, siding, and trees.

The severe storm was near Milan and Adrian until 9:15 p.m. Other locations impacted by the severe thunderstorm include Jasper, Azalia, Cone, Macon, Riga, Scofield, Oakville, Ridgeway, Palmyra, and Fairfield.

This includes US-23 between mile markers 6 and 25.

Residents should move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building for their protection.

An excessive heat warning has been issued across Metro Detroit, with temperatures rising above 90 degrees until Friday.
