Man charged with 9 counts in Center Line home invasion

Man stole firearm before striking police car, firing at officer

Brendan Tyrell Wilson, 24, of Highland Park, was charged on nine counts in connection with a home invasion in Center Line.

Allegedly, Wilson forced his way into a home and took a firearm from the house on Saturday (Oct. 12) before fleeing the scene in his vehicle, intentionally striking a police car and firing at an officer during his escape.

The 24-year-old man was arrested later that same day.

Wilson was charged with:

Count 1 - Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony

Count 2 - Felony Firearm, a two-year mandatory felony

Count 3 - Home Invasion in the Third Degree, five-year felony

Count 4 - Fleeing Police Officers in the Third Degree, a five-year felony

Count 5 - Felony Firearm, a two-year mandatory felony

Count 6 - Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, a four-year felony

Count 7 - Felony Firearm, a two-year mandatory felony

Count 8 - Malicious Destruction of Building Less Than $200, a one-year misdemeanor

Count 9 - Driving While License Suspended, a 93-day misdemeanor

Wilson was charged in Centerline District Court, where his bond was set at $1 million cash/surety, no 10%.

If he is released, the 24-year-old man must wear a GPS tether and have no contact with any witnesses.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, at 8:45 a.m.
