OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A Michigan man is accused of pulling out a gun during a road rage dispute on I-75 in Oakland County earlier this week, state police said.
At about 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, a trooper was working construction enforcement in Oakland County when they were notified of a road rage dispute and felonious assault with a gun.
The trooper was given the suspect’s license plate and a description of the vehicle, and found the vehicle in heavy traffic in a construction zone, according to state police.
A traffic stop was conducted and the trooper discovered that the driver, a 38-year-old Ovid man, had a pistol in his possession. He was detained and the gun was seized.
State police say the case pends the prosecutor’s review.
“Unfortunately, we still see drivers that can’t let minor traffic infractions go,” said Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw. “This is one time that heavy construction traffic was actually a good thing, and helped get the suspect off the street before anyone was hurt.”
