How an alleged mpox case ruined photos with Santa for several Metro Detroit families

Photographer tells Santa’s helper that she had to cancel 150 photo shoots because she has mpox

NEW BOSTON, Mich. – We know Santa can’t visit everyone’s house before Christmas, so he has helpers that use his name, and one particular Santa has run into a problem.

Several families across Metro Detroit, along with families from Ohio and Canada, were looking to get Christmas photos taken, but say they were left empty-handed.

“He’s doing everything in his power right now to accommodate these families,” said Trisha Furnari of Macomb Township. “He’s offering house visits, discounted rates, and working with other photographers because he didn’t get any money out of this.”

A skilled New Boston photographer allegedly booked 150 families for photo shoots with Santa’s helper and has allegedly canceled every one of them.

The photographer told the families that she had to cancel their sessions because Santa’s helper that she works with has mpox.

But Santa was shocked by these claims and said he doesn’t have mpox.

In fact, when Santa asked the photographer why the photo shoots were canceled, she told him that it was because she has mpox.

Now, families are looking for refunds.

“If you kind of knew that you had to cancel them, then why wait till the last second,” said Rachel Fischer. “Christmas is right around the corner. People spent money for outfits and took time out of their schedule. Requested to leave work a little early so I can go and get these photos done. So it’s not just a monetary thing. It’s also just the time, and the kids are heartbroken because they can’t see Santa today.”
