Mild, misty Monday in Metro Detroit with festive flurries on the way

It’s a mild and misty start to your Monday as we wake up to temperatures in the 40s.

Low pressure tracking through the area will bring off and on light showers or drizzle today and last into early tonight. Highs will inch close to 50 this afternoon making this the warmest day of the week.

As winds pick up and temperatures fall on Tuesday, it will turn mainly dry and brisk. Gusts will be upward of 30 mph and highs will be around 40. The potential exists for an area of light snow to move across the area Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Festive flurries will likely be flying for the Turkey Trot downtown and tapering off as the parade kicks off. Temperatures will dip well below average starting on Friday with highs in the 30s. These colder conditions will persist through the remainder of the holiday weekend. The cold air will be favorable for lake effect snow showers to develop at times through the weekend.
