Where to celebrate Hanukkah in Metro Detroit

The first night of Hanukkah is on Wednesday, Dec. 25, and organizations across Metro Detroit will be celebrating the eight-day holiday with menorah lightings and activities for the family.

Menorah in the D - Campus Martius

Doors open at 5 p.m. on Dec. 25, 2024, and the lighting begins at 6 p.m.

Oakland County

Chanukah Havdalah Glow Party - 27375 Bell Road in Southfield

There will be a quick dinner followed by lighting the Havdalah candles to welcome a new week and lighting the menorah. The event will be held on Dec. 28, 2024, from 5:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Register here.

ChaNEWkah - 29901 Middlebelt Road in Farmington Hills

Celebrate Chanukah and New Years Eve with Adat Shalom Synagogue! Entertainment, activities, and light dinner will be available. Candles will be lit and countdown to the new year together. Get tickets here.

The Annual Birmingham Menorah Lighting and Celebration - 270 West Merrill Street in Birmingham

The annual celebration will be held on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024, at Shain Park

JFamily and SWAG Kids Gym Family Hanukkah Party - 7306 Haggerty Road in West Bloomfield

S.W.A.G Kids Gym will be holding a family-friendly Hanukkah party on Jan. 2, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. According to the event page, there will be activities and games for the family. Get tickets here.
