MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A social media post claiming the body of a missing Warren woman was recovered is false.
Police have been searching for the body of 30-year-old Ashley Elkins for multiple days this week at a landfill in Macomb County.
Elkins, 30, was last seen leaving her house in Warren at about 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2025.
The rumor started circulating Wednesday (Jan. 15) night following a post from a police scanner page, but police and family say it’s not true. The search is expected to continue on Thursday.
