Cold weather advisory remains in effect for Southeast Michigan

A cold weather advisory remains in effect for all of Southeastern Michigan through 12 p.m. Wednesday.

Wind chill values will drop to between -15° to -25° over the next few days.

While during the day on Tuesday, we could see wind chill values around -10°, this type of dangerously cold temperatures could result in frostbite in less than 30 minutes to exposed skin.

Detroit Zoo, Belle Isle Nature Center closed due to extremely cold temperatures

Due to the forecasted extreme cold temperatures across Metro Detroit, the Detroit Zoo and Belle Isle Nature Center is closed on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

The closure has been implemented to provide guests and animals who call the Detroit Zoo and Belle Isle Nature Center home.

Michigan woman arrested after abandoning puppy in park porta potty

A Michigan woman was arrested for allegedly abandoning a puppy in a park porta potty.

Grand Blanc Township police said the puppy, Hank, was found in a porta potty at Creasey Bicentennial Park and may have been abandoned for more than two days.

Officers were later able to reach Hank’s owner, a 25-year-old Grand Blanc woman, who said her landlord did not accept the Pitbull breed.

According to police, the woman didn’t know what to do with Hank, so she left him in a porta potty.

A Southfield man was arrested following a police chase that ended after he crashed into a home in Berkley.

Officers tried to stop an SUV near Edwards and Greenfield on Jan. 19, 2025, at around 1:30 p.m. because they said the driver, a 31-year-old Southfield man, was driving without a license and had multiple outstanding warrants.
