15 dead cats removed from Lansing home

Authorities in Ingham County removed 15 dead cats and 6 living cats from a Lansing home on Jan. 24, 2025. (WDIV)

LANSING, Mich. – More than 20 cats, most of them dead, were removed from a Lansing home Friday morning.

According to authorities, Ingham County Animal Control officers executed a search warrant at a Denver Avenue home, where they removed six living cats and 15 dead cats.

The six cats are undergoing medical evaluations and care.

The home was searched after Animal Control received a tip regarding unsanitary living conditions.

The owner is expected to face charges.
