Up to 30 people displaced in St. Clair County apartment fire

EAST CHINA TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Up to 30 people have been displaced after a fire at an apartment building in St. Clair County.

The fire was reported just before 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, at Bree Manor Apartments in East China Township.

According to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, when crews arrived they found the building fire was “fully involved.” Everyone who lived at the apartment was accounted for and nobody was trapped by the fire.

Officials said 20 to 30 people have been displaced due to the fire. The American Red Cross was contacted and is working to find housing for those who have been displaced.

The fire is still under investigation and foul play is not suspected.
