Another round of snow, ice to hit Metro Detroit -- Here’s when and what to expect

As most of the region saw some sort of winter weather overnight Wednesday into early Thursday morning, another round of snow and possible rain mix is expected to hit Metro Detroit this weekend.

We will watch a strong low pressure system work north and east into the Ohio Valley, and this system will have plenty of moisture to work with. The latest data suggests that this system may be entirely snow for Southeastern Michigan contrary to a wintry mix we’ve been looking at the past few days.

Woman suffers severe injuries after falling 20ft from chair lift at Oakland County ski resort

A woman was severely injured after she fell 20 feet from a chair lift at an Oakland County ski resort.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Mt. Holly Ski & Snowboard Resort on Dixie Highway in Holly.

Is it real or is it a trick? Federal workers debate legitimacy of buyout offer as deadline nears

Thousands of miles from Elon Musk’s office in the White House complex, a federal worker based in the Pacific Northwest is wondering whether to quit.

Musk, one of President Donald Trump’s most powerful advisers, has orchestrated an unprecedented financial incentive for people to leave their government jobs, promising several months of pay in return for their resignation. The worker, who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of retribution, wants to take the money and move overseas.

Weather: Freezing rain moves out of Metro Detroit on Thursday; more wintry weather arrives this weekend

Most of the region has seen some sort of winter weather overnight Wednesday night into early on Thursday morning. The highest amount of freezing rain have been down in our southern counties, south of I-94. We will keep the chance of some freezing rain into the forecast early this morning through the morning commute before we dry things out for the rest of the day. High temperatures heading for the upper 30s by Thursday afternoon.
