As Metro Detroiters continue cleaning up from the last snowfall, another round is already on the way.
“I didn’t know we were getting more snow,” said Haz Khan of Warren. “A little bit?”
No, it’s a lot a bit.
With roughly 20 communities declaring snow emergencies for Sunday, it’s clear winter isn’t letting up just yet.
---> Next wave of winter storm to hit Metro Detroit on Sunday: How much snow, timing, alerts
We caught up with a delivery driver braving the wet conditions and making his rounds despite the snow-covered streets.
Robert Dennings, pointing to his winter-ready layers, reminded drivers to stay alert when even more snow comes.
“Drive slow -- Pay attention to your surroundings,” he said. “You never know — Even when it’s raining, it could be slippery and it don’t look like it.”
And for snowplow drivers, this is just another day on the job… another long day, that is.
Mike Dorosz, a veteran in the snow removal business (38 years), was getting ready for another long night. Luckily, he said, this last snowfall wasn’t too bad.
“The heavier stuff, it’s a little harder to do. We like the light and easy ones,” he said.
But with more snow on the way, Dorosz knows his work is far from over.
“The groundhog’s right this year,” he said.
