DETROIT – There are thunderstorm chances -- and some of them could be severe -- each of the next three days in Metro Detroit before snow makes its return.
Friday: Storm chances
A couple of rain showers will try to move through Southeast Michigan on Friday morning, mainly south of I-94.
Another round of rain and thunderstorms arrive for the entire region in the afternoon and early evening.
Highs should reach the mid-60s.
The rain clears out in the evening and leaves partly cloudy skies. Lows will fall to the mid-50s in the areas north of M-59 and the upper 50s near Detroit.
Saturday: More rain, thunderstorms
Saturday comes with a mix of sunshine, clouds, and more showers and storms.
Stormy weather is expected in the afternoon and evening.
High temperatures will be around 70 degrees.
Rain chances continue into Saturday night. Lows will be in the low 50s.
Sunday: Severe storm chances
Sunday appears to be an active day, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms that could become strong to severe.
All of Southeast Michigan is under a slight risk of severe thunderstorms, which is a level two out of five.
Threats from the strongest storms include gusty winds, hail, and the possibility of an isolated tornado.
Shower and storm chances last into Sunday night as a cold front sweeps across Southeast Michigan.
Sunday’s highs will be in the mid- to upper 60s, while lows are in the lower 40s.
Monday: Snow returns
Monday will begin with the day’s warmest temperatures in the early morning hours. His will be in the 50s, but those numbers will tumble into the 30s and 40s in the afternoon.
Rain showers will transition into show as the air becomes colder.
