She was shot in the head in January 2021 in the living room of her home. Stribling reportedly shot her because she was “talking back” to him.

At the time, Stribling was arrested, charged and denied bond.

“Bailei Singleton should still be here with us today. Her murder was a tragedy for her family,” said Prosecutor Karen McDonald. “It’s unconscionable that anyone, let alone an 8-year-old child, could be murdered by a relative and in their own home over the slightest of disagreements.”

Stribling is scheduled to be sentenced May 27.
