17-year-old gets half-million-dollar bond in Macomb County arson

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – A 17-year-old will be charged as an adult for their suspected role in a Mount Clemens house fire.

According to authorities, it happened April 10 at about 3 a.m. at a home on Eldredge Street, near Cass Avenue. First responders arrived and found smoke pouring from the burning home. The victims -- three adults and three young children -- were able to escape without being hurt. While fire crews were able to contain the blaze, the home was significantly damaged.

Jonathan Brady was taken into custody later that day. He has been charged with first-degree home invasion, second-degree arson, placing explosives near property causing damage and possession of bombs with unlawful intent causing property damage.

Brady’s bond was set at $500,000 cash/surety, no 10%. He is required to wear a GPS tether if released.
