Macomb County teens injured in Easter shooting

Investigation is ongoing

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Three teens are recovering after a shooting in Clinton Township early Sunday morning.

Police rushed to the Clemens Court apartment complex Sunday, April 20, on reports of two teens being hit by gunfire and a third being grazed. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Department spent hours on the scene investigating the incident at the Clemens Court apartment complex, leaving parents on edge.

Neighbors revealed that the victims were 14 and 16 years old, with one sustaining a graze wound and the other suffering a more serious injury.

Details surrounding the shooting are extremely limited at this time, and authorities have not disclosed what may have led to the shots being fired. However, residents have indicated that this wasn’t the first incident of its kind within the complex.

Local 4 observed officers focusing on a Chevrolet Impala parked nearby, which was eventually towed away as part of the investigation. While the matter remains under investigation, parents are hoping this will be the last time a situation like this occurs.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clinton Township Police Department at 586-493-7800.
