ROSEVILLE, Mich. – A massive fire engulfed a building in Roseville on Tuesday, causing officials to issue a shelter-in-place.
The fire is at the RCO Engineering industrial building on 12 Mile Road between Hayes Road and Groesbeck Highway in Roseville. Multiple roads have been shut down.
You can watch aerial footage of the fire in the video below.
When Sky 4 arrived at the scene at 11:29 a.m. Tuesday, there was a pillar of white smoke coming from the building. By 11:51 a.m., the smoke had turned dark, and flames could be seen through holes in the roof.
The fire prompted a shelter-in-place for residents within a half-mile of the building. Residents are asked to stay inside and close their windows and doors because there’s a risk of chemicals in the smoke plume.
At this time, it’s unclear what caused the fire.
