Man sends 8-year-old Bloomfield Township girl online game money for nude videos, police say
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ A Kansas man befriended an 8-year-old Bloomfield Township girl while playing an online game and persuaded her to send him nude videos in exchange for currency used in that game, police said. A woman called Bloomfield Township police around 10:30 a.m. June 23 about an inappropriate relationship between her 8-year-old daughter and a man who called himself โJohn.โThe woman said her daughter and โJohnโ became friends while playing an online game called Roblox. Bloomfield Township investigators found more than 20 videos on the iPad and identified โJohnโ as Clinton McElroy, 48, of Ellis, Kansas. Ellis County officials went to McElroyโs home around 4 p.m. Sept. 17 and took him into custody. He is being held at the Ellis County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
Bloomfield Township police investigating after package stolen from homeownerโs porch
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ Police responded to a larceny complaint captured on a homeownerโs Ring doorbell video, Bloomfield Township police said. The larceny happened in the 500 block of Pineway Circle on Aug. 18. Police said a tall man wearing a 3 teal winter mask, gray sweatshirt and dark pants stole a package from the homeownerโs porch at 4:43 a.m. The suspect tried to open the front door, but it was locked. Please shelter in place -- Authorities battle gas tanker truck fire in Bloomfield Township
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. A gasoline tanker truck caught fire Saturday on Square Lake Road near Opdyke Road in Bloomfield Township. According to Bloomfield Township Police, the area -- including parts of I-75 -- have been shut down due to the fire. Hazmat teams were called to the area. Police Tweeted that residents in the area are urged to shelter in place and to call 911 immediately if they feel ill.

Pontiac man charged with retail fraud after incident at Carlโs Golfland
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. โ A 36-year-old Pontiac man has been charged with first-degree retail fraud and lodged in the Oakland County Jail. Officials said they watched Matthew Brenneman enter Carlโs Golfland in Bloomfield Hills on Friday. Bloomfield township officers stopped Brenneman after he left the store. He had also hidden a $429 putter up the sleeve of his jacket, according to officials. Brenneman was arraigned in the 48th District Court in front of Magistrate Andra Richardson.
Bloomfield Township police investigate Peeping Tom report on Spinningwheel Lane
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich โ Bloomfield Township police responded to a call Jan. 31 at about 10 p.m. about a Peeping Tom in the 2000 block of South Spinningwheel Lane. The victim told police he received a motion alert on his home security camera at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 31, capturing a thin male walking along the side of the victimโs house toward the backyard. Police said the camera captured the suspect looking into the kitchen window then retreat behind a tree in the victimโs backyard. The man told police the same suspect was seen in his yard Jan. 30 at about 9:30 p.m.Police used a K-9 unit and attempted to track with no results. Bloomfield Hills High School student investigated after allegedly posting threatening Snapchat
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A Bloomfield Hills High School student allegedly made a threatening Snapchat post, according to BHHS officials. School officials and the Bloomfield Township Police identified the student and investigated the alleged threat Thursday night. The student will remain out of school and off school district property until the investigation is over, according to school officials.
