48 attorneys general, Federal Trade Commission file antitrust lawsuit against Facebook
DETROIT โ More than 40 attorneys general, including Michigan, and the Federal Trade Commission have filed a lawsuit Wednesday against Facebook. The lawsuit -- after years of an investigation into Facebook -- is focused on antitrust laws. โWeโve seen this pattern emerge over a number of years where Facebook has illegally stifled competition to protect its monopoly power,โ said Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. The FTC is requesting Facebook to divest from Instagram and WhatsApp.
Michigan residents should watch out for fake package delivery texts
LANSING, Mich. โ Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is warning people about an uptick in fake package delivery texts that scammers are using to attempt to gain personal information from a victim. Nessel said recent complaints report that the texts come from unfamiliar phone numbers pretending to be a package delivery notice from Amazon, FedEx or other services.
