A Michigan man saw his ex-girlfriend in a truck with her new boyfriend and threw a rock at them, but the rock bounced off and ricocheted through the windshield of a passing minivan, injuring a 7-year-old girl, state police said.

Michigan State police investigate crash that sent 7 people to the hospital

BAGLEY TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ Michigan State Police are investigating a Bagley Township single vehicle crash that happened around 2:56 a.m. Sunday and sent people to the hospital. The vehicle had seven people inside ranging in age between 17 to 19. โThe forward momentum was stopped after striking another embankment where the vehicle rolled over,โ a statement from MSP on the crash read. MSP added that speeding was a contributing factor to the crash which is still being investigated.
31 Cuddle Bear toys, books donated to MSP Gaylord Post to help children who are victims of crimes
OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich. โ Michigan State Policeโs Gaylord Post received 31 Cuddle Bear toys to take on patrol to help comfort children who are victims or witnesses of crimes, MSP announced Tuesday. Brownโs husband, William Brown, is a trooper at the Gaylord Post. โI knew the minute I saw this fundraising opportunity that I wanted to raise money for this program,โ Brown said. โThese Cuddle Bears and our โHandle With Careโ program will work very well together," said MSP trooper Corey Hebner, who is also the community service trooper at the Gaylord Post. Macomb man charged with drunk driving, having open intoxicants in vehicle
LIVINGSTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ A Macomb man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The incident happened on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. Michigan State Police troopers from the Gaylord Post saw a vehicle on I-75 near Parmater Road in Livingston Township traveling 90 miles per hour in a 75 mile per hour zone. Police said Kevin Patrick Scully, 59, was driving and arrested for Operating While Intoxicated Third Offense. Scully was arrested after police said the had him take sobriety tests. Scully was arraigned in the 7-A District Court in Otsego County for one count Felony Operating While Intoxicated Third Offense, one count Driving While License Suspended, and one count Open Intoxicants in Vehicle.
Woman arrested after leading police chase over Mackinac Bridge
OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich. A driver was arrested after leading police on a chase over the Mackinac Bridge on Thursday morning. Officials say the driver, a 31-year-old woman from Waterford, initially pulled over but then fled the scene. Stop sticks were successfully deployed and the Volkswagen continued to drive across the Mackinac Bridge on its rims. Police say bridge traffic was halted by the Mackinac Bridge Authority after they were notified of the situation. The woman was then arrested and transported to the Otsego County Jail.
Michigan men killed when driver heading wrong way on I-75 causes head-on crash, police say
OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich. โ Two Michigan men were killed Sunday when one of them drove south in the northbound lanes of I-75 and crashed head-on into the other one in Otsego County, police said. The crash happened at 4:11 p.m. Sunday on southbound I-75 near the Gaylord exit, according to authorities. Deputies said Roger Phelps, 77, of Lake City, was heading north in the southbound lanes of I-75 when he crashed into a vehicle heading south. The second vehicle was driven by Lawrence Johnson, 63 of Holt, officials said. Officials tried to treat the men, but they were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Off-duty Michigan State Police sergeant praised for potentially saving elderly manโs life
Michigan State Police Sergeant James Bush has been credited with potentially saving an elderly manโs life last night in Chester Township, according to MSP. Sergeant James Bush found the 79-year-old man slumped over in the snow. After following the tracks, Bush found a 79-year-old Royal Oak man who was barefoot, slumped over and couldnโt stand. Bush then carried the man, who couldnโt tell which direction his cabin was in, to his truck. Bushโs wifeโs call and the fast response of Sergeant James Bush, the outcome may have been different,โ the release states.
Police: Man fatally shot during encounter with Michigan law officers
BAGLEY TOWNSHIP, Mich. - State police say an ax-wielding man has been shot to death during a confrontation with law enforcement officers at a northern Michigan home. Police said on Twitter that four Otsego County sheriff's deputies and a Michigan Department of Natural Resources officer were serving a search warrant shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday when 44-year-old Chad Williams was shot. Police say deputies told them Williams was wielding an ax and refused officers' "commands to stop it when the shooting occurred." The shooting occurred at a home in Bagley Township, northeast of Traverse City. Police say deputies were serving the search warrant after a neighbor reported Williams was threatening with an ax.
