JACKSON, Mich. A Michigan boy with a birth defect found his perfect match. It was pure happiness at the Jackson County Animal Shelter when 2-year-old Bentley Boyers got to take his new puppy home Friday. WILX reports Bentleys dad, Brandon Boyers came to the shelter to look at chickens he was thinking about adopting when a 2-month-old puppy with a cleft lip caught his eye. They family knew they had to bring her home to show Bentley he isnt alone. To see him have something in common with a puppy means a lot because he can grow up and understand that he and his puppy both have something that they can share in common, said Bentleys mother, Ashley Boyers.

Nice try? Michigan woman says bakery botched her unicorn cake
LANSING, Mich. A Michigan woman is not happy after she says a bakery botched her cake, which was supposed to be unicorn themed. Alexandra Schroeder told WILX in Lansing that she spent more than a month planning her daughters fifth birthday party. She paid Whipped Bakery $370 to rent space for a baking birthday bash -- and a unicorn cake. She said the cake was supposed to resemble a unicorn, but ended up far from what she expected. The horn came out in a shape that was so embarrassing, Schroeder told WILX.
3 killed in Lansing-area plane crash, officials say
WATERTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Three people were killed Thursday when a plane crashed near a Lansing airport, officials told NBC affiliate WILX. The single-engine Socata TBM 700 airplane crashed at 8:57 a.m. about 125 yards west of Airport Road, near the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens cemetery, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Here's scene video of the crash:FAA officials said there were six people aboard the plane. The plane took off from Indy South Greenwood Airport in Indianapolis and was preparing to land at the Capital Region International Airport when it crashed, officials said. Officials with the National Transportation Safety Board have also been notified.
