This month, Wyandotte police helped save two men -- one in his early 30โฒs the other in his late 50s -- from jumping in the Detroit River. Early Wednesday morning, police were trying desperately to prevent a man from jumping into the Detroit River. Ten days earlier, Wyandotte police received a call about another man trying to jump into the river. โA lot of people that are struggling and going through crisis, they think theyโre alone and theyโre not.
Wyandotte police use social media to return stolen blanket to rightful owner
WYANDOTTE, Mich. โ When Tonyia Gill had a custom-made keepsake blanket made for her best friend, she never thought the blanket would make headlines. One of those stolen items was Gillโs blanket, but without the packaging, police werenโt sure who it belonged to. They posted a photo of the blanket on social media and asked if anyone knew the woman in the photos on the blanket. Gill started getting phone calls that day from people asking if the blanket was hers within 24 hours, the stolen blanket was returned. The suspected thief is facing seven counts of mail theft and potentially seven years imprisonment.

Man suspected in 2019 murder case charged with dragging Wyandotte detective with vehicle
WYANDOTTE, Mich. โ Wyandotte police working the 2019 murder case of Linda Breen said they were trying to find a 22-year-old man and bring him in for questioning. However, the attempt to arrest Christian Lowe last week became almost deadly for one detective. He sped away, dragging our detective,โ Hamilton said. When the truck goes off the screen of a surveillance video, it barrels toward the alley, the detective goes flying, and the truck crashes into this fence just feet away from a childrenโs play area. Video shows customer stealing from Whiskeys on the Water server
WYANDOTTE, Mich. โ Surveillance video from the popular Wyandotte restaurant Whiskeys on the Water shows a customer stealing billfolds right off the counter and then calmly walking away. The man was at the front hostess stand, near where employees store their personal items. When nobody was looking he stole a serverโs tips, and then her wallet, which had her license and credit cards. Sources told Local 4 that the man isnโt a regular and he paid with cash. The employees have been doing their own detective work to help police track down the thief.
Man faces 12 felony charges following alleged crime spree in Wyandotte

A 33-year-old man is facing more than a dozen felony charges after an alleged crime spree that included two late-night break-ins and a chase in which he escaped police, according to authorities. Boyers alleged crime spree came to an end on Wednesday when he was spotted by police near a scrapyard. An officer shot a taser at Boyer through the passenger side window of the truck, striking him and bringing him down. Boyer is accused of climbing through the window of a Wyandotte home while a family slept on Saturday, according to police. After the home invasions, Boyer stole a car and led Wyandotte officers on a chase, police said.

Those charges are 12 counts, including larceny, unlawful driving away in a motor vehicle, breaking and entering and several assaulting police officer charges. Local 4 first told you about Boyer after police said he went on a crime spree. Recently, police said Boyer climbed through the window of a Wyandotte home while the family inside was sleeping. He jumped into a dump truck and stole the truck, Hamilton said.

Downriver neighborhood wants answers as cats keep getting shot, killed
WYANDOTTE, Mich. A Downriver neighborhood is on edge because cats keep dying. Police said at least two cats have been shot, but the neighbors claim its a lot more. I thought he had gotten hit by a car.She took Vega to a veterinarian and an X-ray showed his leg was shattered by a high-power pellet gun. I couldnt believe it when he showed me the X-ray, Hanselman said. At least four other cats have not survive their run in with the cat-hater and Hanselman is deeply concerned.
Wyandotte business owner accused of stealing from customers
WYANDOTTE, Mich. โ A Wyandotte business owner is facing multiple charges for allegedly stealing from customers, police said. Patrick Dingman, the owner of Crime Ring Kustoms in Wyandotte, called police Feb. 11 to say a customerโs van had been stolen from his business, according to authorities. On Wednesday, investigators discovered the stolen van at a warehouse in Wyandotte that is leased by Dingman, authorities said. Dingman was arraigned Sunday on charges of receiving and concealing stolen property worth $20,000 or more, receiving stolen property worth between $1,000 and $20,000, larceny by conversion and false felony report. Police believe Dingman might have stolen property from other customers.
