Metro Detroit has several chances for rain, storms next week

Above average temperatures stick around through midweek

Rain and a few thunderstorms return to the forecast for the middle of the week (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – After lots of sunshine on Saturday, we’ve seen some cloud cover roll into the forecast through the overnight, but I am looking for more sunshine and unseasonably warm conditions to continue for Sunday.

The warm front I talked about on Saturday that would trigger scattered showers for Sunday has moved faster overnight last night and into this morning, and should be pulling through the region by lunchtime.

There is the chance of a few showers north of Metro Detroit. Due to the front moving through earlier than anticipated on Saturday, we will keep dry weather into the forecast with a little more cloud cover early. Then decreasing clouds giving way to mostly sunny skies by the afternoon. High temperatures heading well into the 70s, and a breezy wind out of the West at 5-15 MPH with gusts as high as 25 MPH can be expected.

We keep some dry weather into the forecast to start the week on Monday, mostly sunny skies can be expected. High temperatures heading for the upper 60s to lower 70s by Monday afternoon.

We start the day dry on Tuesday, but then we bring the chance of rain showers back into the forecast once again late Tuesday night and into Wednesday as another strong low-pressure system works into the region. The winds will be breezy as we head throughout the middle of the week on Wednesday as well, but still on the warm side of things with high temperatures heading into the middle 70s by Wednesday afternoon. With the first frontal boundary moving through the region on Wednesday, we will also bring the chance of a few thunderstorms into the forecast as well.

Dry weather returns to the forecast for most of our Thursday before rain showers are back into the forecast once again late Thursday night, then we dry things out as we look ahead into the end of the week on Friday. We will keep a mixture of sunshine and clouds into the forecast for the end of the week, high temperatures into the 60s on Thursday will give way to the 50s on Friday.

Looking ahead into the start of next weekend, for now we will keep a mixture of sunshine and clouds into the forecast, but I am going to hold onto an isolated rain shower, especially along and South of Metro Detroit, but most places should stay dry. High temperatures remaining into the 50s for the start of next weekend.
