This holiday weekend is delivering pleasant weather to Southeast Michigan.
A high-pressure system, which is gliding from the Ohio Valley to the eastern Great Lakes, will help to clear skies Saturday night and Sunday. The air mass will also bring slightly drier air into the region.
Besides a couple of spotty showers in Southeast Michigan on Saturday evening, most areas will dodge the rain. Skies will continue to clear as lows fall to the lower 60s, except for a few readings in the upper 50s west of US-23. Westerly winds will be 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday
Want to take out the boat, go to the beach, or visit the Royal Oak Taco Fest? Sunday will bring pleasant weather with abundant sunshine. The humidity will be noticeably lower. Highs will be in the lower 80s. Lows will fall to the lower to mid 60s.
Monday
The hot weather will be back for Monday, and it will come with an uptick in humidity. It will be partly in Metro Detroit; but north of I-69, there will be the chance of a few showers. Highs will be in the mid 80s to near 90 degrees.
The shower chances will expand to the rest of Southeast Michigan on Monday night. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 60s.
Tuesday
Rain showers and possible thunderstorms will impact the Tuesday morning drive. The chance of showers and thunderstorms will last through the day. Highs will be in the mid 70s to 80 degrees. Lows will be in the mid 60s.
Wednesday
A few showers will also be possible on Wednesday. Besides the slight rain chance, it will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny. Highs will be in the lower 80s, and lows will be in the lower to 60s.
Thursday
Under mostly sunny skies, daily highs will gradually increase from the lower 80s on Thursday to the upper 90s on Saturday.
Beryl
Nationally, Southeast Texas is bracing for Beryl. Beryl was still a tropical storm on Saturday evening, but it was expected to strengthen back into a hurricane before a likely landfall on Monday. Hurricane warnings and additional tropical alerts are now in effect for the Texas coastline. Coastal communities face the greatest threat, but the potential for damaging winds, tornadoes, and flooding will extend well-inland.
