More than a dozen Michigan counties will be under a winter storm watch this week with several inches of snow possible.
The watch impacts the Lake Michigan coast of the state, starting Tuesday evening, through Thursday evening.

Michigan winter storm watch info
West Michigan counties:
- Mason
- Lake
- Oceana
- Newaygo
- Muskegon
- Ottawa
- Kent
- Allegan

- Kalamazoo
When: Tuesday evening through Thursday evening
What to expect: Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 12 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
Northern Lower Michigan:
- Leelanau
- Antrim
- Benzie
- Grand Traverse
- Manistee
- Wexford
- Charlevoix
When: Tuesday night through Thursday night
What to expect: Heavy lake effect snow remains possible. Total snowfall accumulations between 6 and 12 inches with locally higher amounts remain possible. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
Upper Peninsula: Marquette and Alger counties
When: Wednesday morning through late Wednesday night
What to expect: Heavy lake enhanced snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 10 inches possible, except 5 inches or less southwest of Ishpeming and west of M-95. Patchy blowing snow possible along the lakeshore.
