The NOAA outlook calls for an equal chance that nearly all of Michigan will see average temperatures in March.

Michigan precipitation outlook for March 2025

The NOAA outlook shows a 60-70% chance that all of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan sees above average precipitation in the month of March, the highest chance of any state in the U.S.

  • The average for precipitation in March for the Detroit region is 2.43 inches (rain), but depending on temps, some of this could be snow.
