The NOAA outlook calls for an equal chance that nearly all of Michigan will see average temperatures in March.
- The average high temp in March for the Detroit area is 45. The average low is 28 degrees.
- The first day of spring is March 20.

Michigan precipitation outlook for March 2025
The NOAA outlook shows a 60-70% chance that all of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan sees above average precipitation in the month of March, the highest chance of any state in the U.S.
- The average for precipitation in March for the Detroit region is 2.43 inches (rain), but depending on temps, some of this could be snow.
