Local legends, Grand Funk Railroad hit the Detroit Music Hall stage Thursday, January 9th as part of The Locomotion Tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Loco-Motion! The tour started last year, sold out completely at the Soaring Eagle Casino and is now making its way through Detroit.

The Tony-winning show “SIX” will be at the Fisher Theater from January 7th- January 12th. For those unfamiliar, “SIX” tells the story of the six wives of Henry VIII and how they ended up married to one of England’s most infamous kings. It sounds a little bit like “Hamilton,” but the wives’ stories are told through the lens of a pop concert. Each wife embodies a famous pop diva (Catherine of Aragon has Beyoncé energy, for example), and sings an epic pop anthem about how Henry wronged them.

The Detroit Auto Show returns back to its January roots! Buckle up, there’s a lot of new vehicles to see! From January 10th to January 20th car enthusiasts and families can enjoy the newest vehicles, exotic supercars, luxury and modified cars, the latest Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Corvette models, technology displays, interactive track activations, custom car exhibits and more. The biggest highlight this year will be four indoor test tracks and a “Detroit Through the Decades” exhibit featuring classic cars.

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through February 23rd Bowers School Farm is free and open to the public for visitors to meet their animals, enjoy their cozy bonfires and to indulge in a variety of comfort foods from their Farm Kitchen and Store. Visitors can also purchase tickets to ride down their tubing hill that takes you through a giant light tunnel. It is recommended to purchase tubing tickets in advance due to its popularity.

Currently, the museum has three new and two ongoing exhibits you can check out when you visit. If a Thursday museum visit doesn’t work into your schedule, you can visit from 11am-5pm on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday for $6-$10.
