Driver arrested by Detroit police with assistance from MSP helicopter during perilous event

There is no word on what charger driver would face

DETROIT – Swift action from the sky unfolded as the Michigan State Police, aided by its Trooper 3 helicopter, promptly assisted the Detroit police in apprehending a speeding driver.

The high-speed chase, a perilous event, unfolded on Thursday (March 7) in the area of West 7 Mile Road and the Southfield Freeway in Detroit.

Officials say the speeding driver got onto the freeway going south and headed into Dearborn.

The driver later was shown speeding past other drivers on Evergreen Road before turning onto Hubbard Drive.

Police say the driver eventually crossed Greenfield Road when he crashed into another car before fleeing on foot.

Police were able to track him down, but there is no word on what charges the driver would face.
