Portions of Southeast Michigan are now under a Winter Weather Advisory from 1 p.m. today to 7 a.m. Thursday.
Snow totals beginning Wednesday afternoon
Snow could start as early as 3 p.m. or so, but the more impactful, heavier snow will push through between the 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. timeframe.
Snow total accumulations between 3-6 inches are expected for locations under the advisory.
A mix will cut down on totals in our southern communities that could see as low as 2 inches or if it remains more snow and less than a mix, than upward of 4 inches. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Macomb, Sanilac and St. Clair counties where 6 to 8″ of snow is expected through tonight with the heaviest snow from late afternoon to late evening.
Expect heavier amounts north of M-59 and possibly lower amounts closer to the Ohio state line due to the threat of a wintry mix cutting in on totals.
Rain, sleet near I-94
Around and south of I-94 may see a wintry mix including freezing rain and or sleet, which could lead to a light glaze of ice accumulations.
