Wet, windy weather conditions improve this weekend in Metro Detroit -- here’s what to expect

Saturday highs in lower 60s; Sunday highs in lower 70s

4Warn Weather – The windy conditions are prompting alerts across Southeast Michigan, but conditions will improve for the weekend.

Alerts

A wind advisory continues for all of Southeast Michigan until midnight.

A gale warning is in effect for the Michigan waters of Lake Erie until 4 a.m. Saturday.

A gale warning is in effect for Lake St. Clair and Lake Huron in Southeast Michigan until 10 a.m. Saturday.

Friday Night

The rain will wind down Friday evening with most showers out of the region by 9 p.m. With a wind advisory in effect for the remainder of the night, winds will not be as strong. Winds will be out of the west-northwest at 20 to 25 mph with gusts as high as 40 mph. Lows will be around 40 degrees.

Saturday

The weather will be a lot better for the Twins-Tigers doubleheader Saturday afternoon. Expect sunny skies, but it will still be breezy. Winds will be out of the west-northwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Temperatures will be milder with highs around 60 degrees.

Saturday night, a few clouds will develop with the chance of a couple of overnight rain showers. Lows will be in the mid 30s. Westerly winds will finally subside to 5 to 15 mph.

Sunday

It will be partly cloudy on Sunday, but we will have a chance of isolated showers in the morning and again in the afternoon. A thunderstorm is also possible. Highs will be in the lower 70s. With mostly clear skies at night, lows will be in the lower 40s.

Metro Detroit’s normal high this weekend is 58 degrees with average lows of 38 to 39 degrees.

Monday and Tuesday

Monday will bring more sunshine with highs in the upper 60s to 70 degrees. Then, the chance of rain showers will return late on Tuesday with similar temperatures.

Wednesday

Be prepared for a rainy and warm Wednesday. Highs will be in the lower to mid 70s. Then, cold fronts will usher in cooler air for the end of next week.
