Storms this weekend in Metro Detroit: What to expect

Marginal risk for strong to severe storms on Saturday

4Warn Weather – We’ll have mainly dry and seasonable conditions today, but I won’t rule out an isolated afternoon/evening light shower or spotty drizzle. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s.

Tonight’s sunset is at 9:14 p.m.

Showers are likely overnight tonight into Saturday morning.

Rainy Saturday

Showers and thunderstorms are likely throughout Saturday morning, though they aren’t expected to be severe.

Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible, however, midday Saturday and into the the evening. Metro Detroit has been placed under a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for severe weather on Saturday.

Saturday will be warmer with highs in the low 80s before a cold front sweeps through the region. In the wake of the front, cool and dry weather will build in Sunday.

We’ll dip into the 70s with breezy conditions on Sunday.

Warming up next week

Sunshine returns to start your next work week. We will have a gradual warm-up heading into the Fourth of July holiday with highs close to 90 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.
