4Warn Weather – This weather roller coaster is about to go downhill.
Metro Detroit enjoyed a second afternoon of 50-degree weather after rain Monday morning, but wintry weather wants to make a comeback.
Monday night will be mostly cloudy and cool. Southeast Michigan will have lows around 35 degrees. Light winds will be out of the west-southwest around 5 mph.
Under mostly cloudy skies, temperatures will be slightly cooler on Tuesday. Highs will be in the lower 40s. Winds will be out of the west-southwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday
Tuesday night will be cloudy, but a couple of snow showers will develop over the Thumb after midnight. Lows will be around 30 degrees.
Then, we will have to welcome the wintry weather back to Metro Detroit.
Wednesday
There will be the chance of snow showers across Southeast Michigan on Wednesday morning, and the snow will increase in coverage in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 30s with afternoon wind chills in the 20s.
In the evening, the snow and wind will intensify. The snow will continue through the night as temperatures fall into the teens. Wind chills will be in the teens and single digits.
Thursday
Snow showers and gusty winds will continue into Thursday. Plus, it will be sharply colder. Highs will only reach the lower 20s, but it will feel like the single digits all day. Snow totals from Wednesday and Thursday will be one to three inches.
Thursday night will be mostly cloudy, with lows ranging from 6 to 12 degrees. Wind chills will be in the single digits in Metro Detroit and subzero in the Thumb.
Friday
Temperatures will begin to moderate on Friday. Highs will be around 30 degrees and lows will be in the lower to mid 20s. It will be mostly cloudy with a few flurries.
Temperatures will warm into the lower 30s to lower 40s over the weekend.
